Jerry Paris, 60, an actor, writer, producer and director who won an Emmy for television's "The Dick Van Dyke Show," died Monday of a brain tumor in Los Angeles. Mr. Paris appeared as Dick Van Dyke's neighbor Jerry, a dentist, and wrote for and co-produced the CBS series, which ran from 1961-1966. He won a 1964 Emmy as best comedy series director and later was director and producer for television's "Happy Days." He directed the movies "Never a Dull Moment" and "Viva Max!" and the second and third movies in the "Police Academy" comedy series.
