Last Sunday, I lost a dear friend. What started as a joyous
Easter Day ended in sadness. I was innocently watching television
when I heard the news - James Cagney was dead at the age of 86. I
never met Mr. Cagney, but he was still a dear friend and my hero. He
was a man greatly admired, an actor I wanted to emulate. When the
world was dark and dreary, Jimmy was always there with his films to
put me back on top of the world. He represented the dreams, the
hopes, the fears of all men and he constantly amazed me and moved me
to laughter and to tears.
I was only 4 years old when I saw my first James Cagney film -
"Yankee Doodle Dandy." From that moment on, I have wanted to create
