Article: $366 million plan seeks a new County Hospital

A coalition of health-care workers yesterday proposed a $366
million comprehensive plan that calls for a new Cook County Hospital
and the purchase of a second hospital on the South Side.
The plan also calls for the establishment of four new community
clinics and the expansion of the City of Chicago's existing Woodlawn,
Englewood and Holman health facilities.
Susan Bennett, speaking on behalf of the coalition, said that
because its members work in County Hospital, they have a "special
insight" into the community's health problems.
The coalition will attempt to get grass-roots support for its
project, in addition to talking with the Cook County Board, City
Council and the Legislature, ...
