Article: Trial may show Vrdolyak plan for `kingpin' Bullock

The trial of state Rep. Larry Bullock is expected to produce
testimony that Ald. Edward R. Vrdolyak (10th) hoped to set up
Bullock and another Vrdolyak ally as minority contracting "kingpins,"
the Chicago Sun-Times has learned.
Also likely to surface during the U.S. District Court
proceedings are prominent names such as those of murdered contractor
Richard Deprizio, Broadview Mayor John Oremus and Vrdolyak's brother,
Victor, sources disclosed.
18-count indictment
Bullock was named Wednesday in an 18-count federal indictment
charging extortion, mail fraud and racketeering. The indictment
stemmed primarily from a series of Sun-Times stories last July. They
