Article: `Talk' matches drugs as depression therapy

Psychotherapy works as well as drugs in treating less severe forms of depression, according to a study. Early results indicate that "interpersonal therapy" and "cognitive behavior therapy" are as effective as the drug imipramine. (An interpersonal therapist tries to change a patient's relationships with other people. A cognitive behavior therapist tries to change a patient's unrealistically negative feelings about himself or the world.)
