Two of the best examples of affluent "yuppie" cars are the Ford
Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and BMW's new 325es.
The two-door cars are from different countries, but are squarely
aimed at U.S. yuppies with big weekly paychecks.
I tested both autos and found them entertaining to drive.
Acceleration is quick and steering, braking and handling are
excellent.
Both have above-average construction and paint. I wouldn't
hesitate to drive either from coast to coast; they're quiet and
comfortable, with nice rides and good bucket seats.
The Thunderbird Turbo Coupe is roomy, with enough rear-seat room
for two 6-footers to get comfortable.
The BMW 325es has decent room up front, but the back seat ...
