The Redskins think they were terrible on Monday night against the
Eagles. And they're right. To their credit, they freely admit it.
From players and coaches, right up to Steve Spurrier, many have said,
"We got our butts kicked." They've said it a dozen ways.
However, the Redskins don't think that, in the context of a 16-
game season, any one loss -- even a 30-point drubbing on their home
field before 85,000 fans -- means too much. Yesterday at Redskins
Park, several said, "Don't read too much into it."
Unfortunately, they're probably wrong about that.
Almost as if reading off a group script, the Redskins said that
it's too early in the season to judge them. Everybody will lose
