ATHENS, Greece (UPI) Iran must use force to make all women
cover themselves from head to foot because "women have smaller brains
than men," a prominent Iranian clergyman said yesterday in Tehran.
There is "no such thing as equality between men and women,"
Parliament Speaker and cleric Hashemi Rafsanjani said during Friday
prayers, according to residents in the Iranian capital. "They are
different physically and mentally," he said.
Rafsanjani said Western countries that had given "more and more
liberty to women" were "in a mess."
Regulations on the veil require women in Iran to cover
themselves from head to foot, leaving only the face and hands
uncovered, and apply equally to ...
