The Cypress model, a two-story, two-bedroom home first offered in
1981, continues to attract a variety of buyers who like the design's
adaptability.
Since its debut, the plan has been improved and modified. The
kitchen has been enlarged and a first-floor powder room relocated to
a more convenient area.
United Development, which is building the model in several
subdivisions in the Chicago area, has realized about $16 million in
sales of the Cypress to date.
"Versatility is the key to the plan's success," said Sheldon
Lazar, the president of United.
