Last of two parts
BASEL, Switzerland Welcome to the middle of a whirlwind. Friend
Steve and I are whirling into the second half of a fast-paced
European journey: six countries in six days from our starting point
in Brussels.
Our 1986 version of the old touristic gag line is, "If it's
Friday, this must be Belgium." On Saturday, we slept in Luxembourg;
on Sunday, in France. That ground was covered in last Sunday's
Travel section.
Now it's Monday, so this must be Switzerland, to be followed by
West Germany on Tuesday and The Netherlands on Wednesday. On
Thursday, I'll fly back to Chicago as a guest of Sabena Belgian World
Airlines.
