Q. I am taking Tenormin. Can you please tell me what you can
about this drug? It is for my high blood pressure?
Tenormin (atenolol) is a beta blocker, one of an enlarging
family of drugs that block nerve messages at their receptor points on
body tissue. So that I don't get into an insufferably long
discussion, will you let me leave it at that for now, and just say
that high blood pressure is one of the illnesses in which it is most
helpful. An advantage to this particular beta blocker is that you
only have to take it once a day.
