FISH CREEK, Wis. The kerosene exploded with a roar, sending flames and dense clouds of black smoke a dozen feet into the air. The Master Boiler laughed and danced away.

A rotund man who loves to eat and play the accordion, the Master Boiler had just ignited a flame in the hearts of the hungry, who were waiting impatiently to enter the White Gull Inn and enjoy a Scandinavian fish boil.
