There will be a lot of hand-clappin' and foot-stompin' going on
tomorrow at the second annual Dorsey Gospel Festival, when
contemporary gospel artist Andrae Crouch, his twin sister, Sandra,
and singer Tata Vega will perform at the South Shore Country Club,
7059 S. South Shore Dr., at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
The fest, sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken, the city of
Chicago and the Dorsey Tribute Committee, is a salute to Thomas A.
Dorsey, a South Side resident who is considered the father of gospel
music. Dorsey, once a jazz and blues artist, established the term
"gospel music" during the 1920s.
