Article: Bush holds big lead for GOP nomination

PRINCETON, N.J. Vice President George Bush continues to hold a commanding lead for the 1988 Republican presidential nomination, with no strong challengers apparent at this stage.

Some runners-up, however, exhibit pockets of strength that, while insufficient to put them into strong current contention with Bush, may be areas of opportunity as the campaign progresses.
