Atheists have put their skepticism of faith healers on the line
by offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can restore a missing body
part.
The Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based Atheists United has launched a
nationwide "Challenge to Faith Healers" to perform "the full
functional restoration of a missing arm, leg, hand, foot, finger,
toe, ear, nose or eye."
Gordon Stein, 45, Atheists United vice president, said yesterday
the $10,000 is in a bank for someone performing a restoration in the
presence of the group's representatives.
If no faith healer comes forward, Stein said, it will show they
