Article: Even liberal Sweden cracking down on porn

We pass laws (and rightly so) against wife-battering, child abuse and drug misuse, but to some it is almost obscene to consider similar measures against pornography - a not-so-strange bedfellow to all of the above.

Those who fear common-sense restraint in the matter would do well to look at Sweden, a country that has been in the vanguard of the sexual revolution - a revolution that has now lost its "sex appeal."

Swedish liberals, who once fought all efforts to curb pornography, are now demanding that controls be reimposed on the grounds that some of the material is dangerous, even destructive.

The Swedish Sex Education Association has made an about-face and is promoting legislation ...
