The former business partner of state Rep. Larry S. Bullock
(D-Chicago) testified yesterday that Ald. Edward R. Vrdolyak (10th)
admitted to him face-to-face that he "undid" two of the partner's
rich business deals.
Contractor Eugene Blackmon made the statement as the main
government witness in Bullock's criminal trial on charges of misusing
public office for personal profit.
He testified that agreements he had with two bigger construction
firms were cut off by Vrdolyak in January, 1985, because of
Blackmon's feud with Bullock.
Blackmon said he was told by an attorney for one firm that a
high-ranking politician advised the company to cancel its deal or
risk the loss of city business.
