When Eiko & Koma, a pair of Japanese-born artists, appear at MoMing
Dance & Arts Center, 1034 W. Barry, tonight and tomorrow, they are
apt to create an austere, haunting universe with desolate images that
will linger on in the mind. In fact, one of the great pleasures of
one of their dance performances is trying to unravel the images and
meaning hours later.
"Our content deals with very fundamental things," said Eiko from
New York, where she and Koma, two of the most compelling dancers on
the American scene, are based.
"We want to share our performance with the audience, so we think
the more fundamental the content is, the more possibilities we have
for sharing with other people," she ...
