LONDON The London Stock Exchange took a big step towards capturing a major slice of the booming market in international stocks and shares when it forged a new agreement with leading securities dealers.

The pact on a joint regulating body to control domestic and international stockbrokering averts the danger of two stock markets in London, the new one dealing just in blue-chip shares and draining business, capital and prestige from the 184-year-old London Stock Exchange..
