EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. A lot of people use superlatives to
describe the New York Giants' defense.
Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs is one of them.
"I have never played against a defense that I have felt was
better or coached against a defense that I felt was better," Gibbs
said.
The statistics back him up.
Top-rated
Entering the week, the Giants had the NFL's No. 1-rated defense,
yielding just 247.1 yards per game. For opponents, that breaks down
to 70.1 yards per game on the ground, 177 yards per game passing and
about 13 points per game.
It's also the defense Gibbs must contend with tomorrow night
when the Redskins meet New York at Giants Stadium with first place in
