Chicago Symphony, Charles Mackerras conducting, at Orchestra Hall
Thursday with Michele Campanella, piano and men of the Chicago
Symphony Orchestra Chorus. "The Midday Witch," Dvorak; Concerto for
Piano, Orchestra, and Male Chorus, Busoni.
Charles Mackerras has had a busy autumn in Chicago. He directed
Handel's "Orlando" for the Lyric Opera and was in charge of the first
part of the run of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" for the company.
This week he moved to Orchestra Hall, where he does three
concerts with the Chicago Symphony. He completes his Lyric
assignments with a last "Lucia" Tuesday.
