Charles Mackerras has had a busy autumn in Chicago. He directed Handel's "Orlando" for the Lyric Opera and was in charge of the first part of the run of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" for the company.

This week he moved to Orchestra Hall, where he does three concerts with the Chicago Symphony. He completes his Lyric assignments with a last "Lucia" Tuesday.
