Mushrooms, walnuts and a touch of sherry go into a holiday pate
that's sure to be popular as either a main dish or an appetizer.
Served warm with a mushroom-sherry sauce and accompanied by mashed
potatoes, cranberries, a colorful spinach-red pepper salad and a few
Christmas cookies, the pate can be the center of a meatless Christmas
dinner. Served with plain crackers and raw vegetables, it's the
perfect appetizer or snack.
A food processor makes quick work of this pate. First, place torn
pieces of bread in the work bowl (steel blade) and pulse a few times
to make crumbs. Remove crumbs from work bowl and set aside. Add
