Dolly Parton said she thought about the story of a movie star
going back to her home in Tennessee for Christmas for several years
before turning it into her first television movie.
She wrote six original songs for the movie, "A Smoky Mountain
Christmas," which ABC will air from 8 to 10 p.m. Sunday on
WLS-Channel 7. Henry Winkler, known for his role as the Fonz on
"Happy Days," makes his movie directing debut.
Parton plays a star who is not looking forward to the Christmas
holidays and decides to spend them in seclusion at a friend's cabin
in the Smoky Mountains. But she finds the cabin occupied by seven
orphans, who quickly put her into the holiday spirit.
