Article: Operetta `Patience' is a virtue for Gilbert-Sullivan society

"Patience," the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta being performed for the next three weekends by the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Chicago, is aptly named for the company's status right now.

After an overly ambitious season three years ago that nearly sank the company financially, the troupe has been slowly rebuilding. Last year, it presented three G & S operettas in St. Ignatius Auditorium, 1320 W. Loyola, and it plans another three-production series there this year.

"Patience" will be performed at 8 tonight and tomorrow at St. Ignatius, as well as Feb. 13, 14, 20 and 21, and at 2 p.m Sunday and Feb. 15. Tickets are $12.50.
