Burr Ridge, a quiet village of wooded hills and luxury homes, is
booming in residential and commercial development.
The west suburb, 19 miles from the Loop, "is just coming out of
its infancy," said Bee Taylor of Coldwell Banker Real Estate in
Hinsdale. "People in Oak Park and Hinsdale who want bigger homes on
larger lots are building in Burr Ridge."
The village's housing market definitely is upscale. "You rarely
find any homes, single-family or town houses, for less than
$225,000," said Meryl Adams, owner of Adams & Myers Realtors in
Hinsdale. In 1986, the average home sale was $317,633.
Land demand in Burr Ridge is such that half-acre lots are
selling for $60,000 to $70,000, said ...
