You think you enjoy Sunday morning pancakes drenched in maple
syrup that comes in squeezable plastic bottles? Just wait. If you
have never experienced breakfast with pure maple syrup straight from
the tree, then you will have your chance beginning this weekend,
which marks the start of maple syrup time in Illinois.
From now through March, visitors can stop by the many maple
syrup tapping festivals, where countless numbers of trees will be
tapped for Mother Nature's reward. Festival visitors will be
rewarded with pancake breakfasts and a lesson in how maple syrup was
discovered.
