Sound Warehouse has leased the building at 1009-1011 N. Rush to
produce a five-level store that will be the largest in the United
States for the Dallas-based tape and record chain.
The 25,000-square-foot building had housed Tony Roma's
Restaurant, which closed last fall. Located directly across Rush
Street from the shuttered Carnegie Theater, it was opened in 1982 as
a professional office building and site for the long-defunct Mr. E's
private club.
The retail location will be the 12th for Sound Warehouse since
the company entered this market a little more than a year ago. Royal
