Conjure up a floating Club Med, add a little bit of Las Vegas and a dash of Disney World, and there you have the Celebration, Carnival Cruise Lines' brand new "Fun Ship."

The so-called "SuperLiner," more than nine stories high and longer than two football fields, left its home port of Miami on a special pre-inaugural voyage March 12.

Along with about 1,500 passengers, including several travel agents and writers, I took the two-day trip into waters near Grand Bahama Island. On March 14 the glitzy new ship began its regular schedule of seven-day cruises, with stops at San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.
