In baseball, if a pitcher is dumb enough to lob a big, juicy,
hanging curve over the plate, a hitter would be crazy not to drive
the ball downtown.
Who's to be blamed? The pitcher for pitch, or the batter for
hitting it?
In the case of ABC News "Nightline" anchor Ted Koppel and recent
guest Al Campanis, former player-personnel executive for the Los
Angeles Dodgers, it is Koppel who has been criticized for simply
doing his job while Campanis was flubbing his.
In what would turn out to be a controversial interview with
Campanis last week on "Nightline," to celebrate the 40th anniversary
of Jackie Robinson's breaking of the racial barrier in baseball,
