For speed and economy, nothing beats ground beef prepared in a
microwave oven. Just how quick is quick? A conventional meatloaf
weighing in at 1 1/2 pounds requires a minimum baking time of one
hour. That same meatloaf, microwaved, will be ready for consumption
in only 20 to 25 minutes - barely enough time for a pre-dinner drink.
Ground beef has long been one of our most versatile meats and it
has easily adapted itself to life in the fast lane. To microwave
bulk ground beef for casseroles and sauces, spread the meat evenly in
a dish. A round dish is preferable, but not essential. Spreading
or crumbling the meat will allow it to cook more quickly and evenly
