Rolling Meadows smashed Hoffman Estates 15-5 yesterday and set
up Tuesday's first-place showdown with Mid Suburban South rival
Prospect, which pounded Conant 14-3.
Rolling Meadows (18-6, 11-4), which has 58 runs in its four-game
winning streak, erupted for an 11-run second, highlighted by John
Gotschall's three-run homer and John Valentin's three-run triple.
The outburst made things easier for Gotschall, an outfielder who
gained his first varsity victory. Valentin is scheduled to pitch vs.
Prospect's Eric Porter.
"Things won't be as easy on Tuesday against Porter," said
Rolling Meadows coach Al Otto. "We've both been playing good
