The Cubs are urging Mayor Washington to speed resolution of the
no-lights issue at Wrigley Field to permit installation of permanent
lights in time for this year's National League playoffs.
If laws banning night baseball are repealed, team officials said
Friday, Wrigley Field would get a major face-lift, including 40
luxury skyboxes, 10,000 extra seats and new upper deck concessions
and washrooms.
Donald Grenesko, vice president of business operations, said the
Cubs' early season success has renewed concerns among league
officials about where the team would host playoff and World Series
games this year.
