POINTE-A-PITRE, Guadeloupe The seven stars in the Big Dipper were
bright, but no competition for the lights of Guadeloupe. To two
awe-struck observers aboard the Fairsky, cruising the Caribbean at
night, the French island glowed like a galaxy suspended in space.
Watching Guadaloupe slide slowly by was just one of several
romantic interludes for my husband, Greg, and me during a recent
cruise aboard the Fairsky. As guests of Sitmar Cruises, which
operates the 46,000-ton ship, we visited six Caribbean ports in 10
days.
Sitmar's newest and largest ship, the Fairsky was built in 1984
