Peter Waddell has an explanation for how he pilots a priceless 83-
year-old luxury car through the fender-bending streets of Washington -
- and keeps from turning into a nervous puddle on the seat.
"It's like doing meditation," said Waddell, 47. "Whatever you were
thinking or doing before being in the car, you forget about, because
you can't focus on anything but the car. I always feel better after
driving it."
The car he drives is a 1919 Pierce-Arrow roadster, the only
gasoline-fueled artifact at Tudor Place, a historic house museum in
Georgetown. It's an anomaly in a collection that leans toward such
items as Martha Washington's tea table and George Washington's camp
