Apparently not everyone shares this reviewer's distaste for
ghost-written memoirs or no one would be buying books by famous
people as told to professional wordsmiths. Anyone smart enough to
become speaker of the House of Representatives or chairman of
Chrysler or hooker-in-chief for a Park Avenue stable of call girls
(to mention three of William Novak's co-authors) should, it seems to
me, have the wit to write his or her own book, especially when the
finished product relies no more heavily on stylistic elegance or
factual punctilio than does this ...
