John Greene's search for a position at Penn State is over.
Green, who was moved from the defensive secondary to tailback
during spring practice, was shifted to fullback Saturday and
responded with 124 yards and two touchdowns to help 20th-ranked Penn
State (2-1) to a 41-0 victory over Cincinnati (1-2) in University
Park, Pa.
"John Greene is a kid who I didn't know if we were being fair
to," Nittany Lions coach Joe Paterno said. "I told him one time that
I didn't know if he would ever be first-string and told him I thought
he should know that in case he wanted to transfer."
Greene wanted to stay.
