TORONTO For some people, Albert Finney is forever frozen in time as
the beguiling, young 18th century rogue in the film "Tom Jones."
With an irresistible glint of mischief in his eyes, a greasy leg of
mutton in his fist, and Susannah York sitting across the table,
Finney became the personification of romance and joie de vivre.
But that was nearly a quarter of a century ago. And while none
of the 51-year-old actor's radiant charm or exuberance has
disappeared, he is now playing father figures. His latest role, in
the film version of "Orphans" (opening Friday at the Biograph), is
that of Harold, the Chicago mobster with a heart of gold who briefly
