An arrow in the chest is a bizarre way to die. But to those who work with the homeless, the murder of a transient living on Lower Wacker Drive was no surprise.

"It simply underscores the fact that it's dangerous out there," said Prem Lalvani, who counsels street people who have been injured. It's part of his job as social worker supervisor at the Cook County Hospital emergency room.

Whether it is "homeless on homeless" crime or advantaged people picking on the unfortunate, many homeless advocates believe crime against street people is on the rise.
