Reflecting the personal taste of a home's occupants is an
important decorating goal these days. One way of achieving the goal
is to select an unusual object of home furnishings that is not seen
in every home on the block.
New York designer Charlotte Moss says a four-poster bed is just
the ticket for the bedroom. Unadorned, the bed contributes a solid
sense of history. With the addition of bed hangings and extra
pillows, it's a romantic and luxurious cocoon, she added.
Four-posters were once the most valuable item of household
furniture a family was likely to own, according to Moss.
