Dear Readers: Can common sense can be learned, or do you have to
be born with it? "Hoping I'm Right" wins a night on the town if you
have to be born with it. I passed the question on to you. The
envelopes have been opened and the answer is, sadly, not clear!

Dear Diane: Common sense is not common. I know highly
educated people who lack basic common sense. It can't be learned;
it is inborn and improved upon with maturity. You either have it or
