Article: Offensive line a key to Mt. Carmel success

When putting together a football team, the offensive line may be the most difficult component to construct, as well as one of the most essential to coordinate.

You'll get no argument from Mount Carmel coach Frank Lenti, whose team travels for a Class 6-A semifinal at East St. Louis tomorrow because the offensive line worked on its orders.

Mount Carmel (10-2) has nine fresh faces in its offense this year, and none fresher than the linemen. Only junior Bart Newman started last year and entered the season knowing he would be expected to provide leadership. Ken Williams, a 6-2, 235-pound tackle, is the lone senior.
