I know why I don't get any respect: I can't tell jokes.
If I could, I'd be regaling everyone I know with some of the
rapid-fire repartee from Rodney Dangerfield's new video, "It's Not
Easy Bein' Me" (Orion Home Video, $59.98). But it's useless trying
to get the punch line right and the timing down, because no one can
deliver a quip like Rodney.
Dangerfield always has meant good business for video retailers,
but he has had trouble translating his stand-up style to movies. His
patented eye-popping, tie-grabbing persona can come across as
overbearingly crude in the wrong fictional setting. While he and
Bill Murray were the highlights of the wildly uneven "Caddyshack,"
