Article: Charlie Sheen passes a crash course in `Wall Street'

NEW YORK Charlie Sheen took a crash course on the stock market for his starring role in "Wall Street," Oliver Stone's movie about insider trading.

The 22-year-old actor said he knew little about shares, futures and commodities when he took on his role as an ambitious young stockbroker in Stone's followup to "Platoon," which won last year's Oscar for best picture.

"I didn't really care about the stock market. I didn't think it had any effect on my life," said Sheen, who also starred in "Platoon."

In "Wall Street," now at local theaters, Sheen plays Bud Fox, a stockbroker eager to make his first million during the bull market of 1985-86.
