Moose Krause was a freshman under legendary Notre Dame coach
Knute Rockne in 1930 and he attended every meeting and practice, even
though freshmen were ineligible. Now the retired Irish athletic
director often does the same with Lou Holtz.
"I see a lot of similarities," said Krause, a tackle. "They are
both talented motivators and psychologists. And they are both fair,
work their teams hard and when practice is over, they have that great
sense of humor."
Rockne is being remembered throughout the country today, the
100th anniversary of his birth. Wednesday in South Bend, Ind.,
President Reagan will introduce a stamp honoring Rockne. Holtz
