Prediction by Gov. Thompson, chairing George Bush's campaign in
Illinois: "If Bush wins big in the llinois primary on March 18, as we
expect he will, it's all over. He'll have the nomination sewed up."
The next voice you hear will belong to former Gov. Dick Ogilvie,
disputing Thompson's optimism. Natch, Ogilvie is heading Sen. Bob
Dole's campaign here. . . . The way Thompson and Ogilive went after
each other the other day, hammer and tongue, indicates an intraparty
battle is brewing.
GOV. THOMPSON IS SENDING letters to all members of the McCormick
Place board, urging selection of Gary Skoien of the state's Capitol
