Three years ago, when Aurelia Pucinski was slated by the
Democratic Party to run for Illinois secretary of state, her old man
got weepy eyed.
As usual, Aurelia had done her father proud.
Ald. Roman Pucinski (41st) still gets a little soft in the
voice when he talks about his only daughter Aurelia, the quick-minded
woman he has advised and championed and adored since her first days
in what he calls "a truly noble profession" - politics.
But now, as Aurelia runs for Circuit Court clerk in the Cook
County Democratic primary, Roman is keeping a public distance. This
is Aurelia's race, not his, and he wants the world to know she alone
