Amy Alcott shot a second consecutive 6-under-par 66 Saturday to
take a four-shot lead with 203 after the third round of the $500,000
Dinah Shore tournament in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Colleen Walker, who began the day one shot behind Alcott, shot a
69 for 207. Rosie Jones, with a 68, was another shot back.
Sandy Lyle shot 69 for 199 and passed Jeff Sluman by three shots
after three rounds of the Greensboro Open. Sluman was at 73.
HOCKEY: Mark Vermette scored at 4:46 of overtime to give Lake
Superior State a 4-3 victory over St. Lawrence and its first NCAA
Division I championship. It was Vermette's 45th goal. Freshman
goalie Bruce Hoffort, who made seven saves in OT, finished with 49
