Does the American Civil Liberties Union really think it won
the case of removing flower religious symbols from Chicago's
conservatories by forcing them to remove the crosses of lilies? I
think not.
For the new arrangement of the lilies to me is that of the
shroud, the burial cloth of Christ. So looking at the transformation
of the lilies in this way, the ACLU has not only lost this case, but
it has created a new religious symbol.
Italy has the Shroud of Turin, and now Chicago has the Shroud of
Garfield Park and Lincoln Park conservatories.
