A few balmy days in early spring are all it takes to make anyone
who likes to grow things outside eager to start working. You could
sow the marigold seeds ahead of schedule, so the flowers could
decorate the front yard a little longer.
By setting out the tomato transplants a couple of weeks sooner
than you're supposed to, you could have fruit well before it would
ordinarily be ready.
Yet, as strong as the temptations are to jump the season, you
hold back, knowing all too well the price you would pay for your
