Article: Chrysler Mexico move enrages UAW

DETROIT The United Auto Workers union, enraged over Chrysler Corp.'s plans to increase production of its compact cars in Mexico, said Friday the decision could needlessly delay current labor negotiations.

"Why in the hell would a company pick this time to do such a controversial thing as to disrupt the tranquility that we're trying to employ to negotiate a contract?" said Marc Stepp, the union's chief labor negotiator. He said the decision showed "callous disregard" on the part of Chrysler to "outsource American jobs to Mexico."
